Financial Specialist - Senior

The Department of Workforce Development's (DWD)Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) maintains 11 Workforce Development Areas (WDAs) across the state where teams of DVR staff work together to assist Wisconsin citizens with their job search efforts. This position will be located at one of our three Fox Valley (WDA 4) offices located in Oshkosh (Winnebago County), Fond du Lac (Fond du Lac County), or Menasha (Outagamie County), depending on business/employee needs.

**Position Summary:**
This position works within the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation's WDA 4 region to ensure that vocational services are rendered as intended, are timely, and that purchase orders, payments, and invoices are processed appropriately and in accordance with administrative rules, policies, and procedures. The position works in a team environment and also provides the full scope of case management support when necessary. This can include management of an active caseload of individuals with disabilities and documenting casework activity in the Integrated Rehabilitation Information System (IRIS) to ensure compliance with state and federal laws and regulations. The position is responsible for a full range of documentation, record-keeping, and accounting-related duties and fiscal activities, including account reconciliations and audits, and serves as a liaison with the Center for Consumer Payments, Bureau of Fiscal Services within the division.

Occasional travel, mostly within the WDA is required.
Due to the nature of this position, a criminal background check may be required prior to appointment.

Minimally qualified candidates will have experience performing tasks related to the following:
* Using computer software for business and/or financial purposes (e.g., Outlook, Sharepoint, case management software such as IRIS, financial software such as PeopleSoft, Quickbooks, etc.).
* Providing customer service in an office environment (e.g. working with stakeholders, vendors, clients, etc. to obtain/provide information, coordinate services, etc.).
* Processing financial documents/transactions (e.g., invoices, purchase orders, etc.) in compliance with state, federal, and/or organizational guidelines (e.g., statutes, policies, fund use directives, etc.).
* Maintaining effective interpersonal and team relationships.
Well-Qualified candidates will also have experience performing tasks related to the following:
* Auditing financial documents/transactions (e.g., invoices, purchase orders, etc.).
* Developing new accounts (e.g., identifying new vendors, cost comparisons, integrating vendor invoice processes, entering vendor in payment system, etc.).
* Managing projects or portions of projects (including tasks such as defining/enforcing timelines, coordinating and researching resources, assigning tasks, implementing, monitoring completion, etc.).
* Working (paid or unpaid) with persons with disabilities, related education, and/or meeting any of these qualifications in a human service setting (e.g., employment services, etc.).
* Providing case management services, including coordinating services with multiple entities.
* Explaining technical information such as processes, step-by-step procedures, policies, regulations, laws, etc.

*Salary:* Starting annual salary is $37,502, plus benefits. The pay schedule-range for this position is 02-13. A 12-month probationary period will be required. Pay will be set in accordance with the State of Wisconsin Compensation Plan in effect at the time of appointment. Starting pay may vary for current state employees.
